About this Project
This project's main objective was to design a Newspaper Ad , Simple at face value but this Ad had to be designed using only black and white and include 5 items/services with illustrations and descriptions . These constraints made us focus on making all of the information look good through thoughtful type layout alone ... no color , specific size makes for Great Learning experience!

RESEARCH & BRAINSTORM
SKETCHES & DOODLES
Although sketching is one of the more creatively freeing steps of a project I do like to give myself some semblance of the organization so that my thoughts don't wander too far and for the sake of aesthetics. With that said I got split some paper into the proper aspect ratio and got to sketching both layout and type treatments .
THUMBNAILS
My next step was too choose three of my favorite layouts and refine them to be something you can conceptualize and build upon. My criteria whilst choosing which sketches made the cut were based off of what design gave me the most creative joy. I wanted my design to evoke emotion and continued with that theme in mind.
2 INTERMEDIATES
I then further refine my thumbnails to a final 2 that I believe can meet the project guidelines best. And flesh out elements that were done in haste.
FINAL HAND COMP
To Finish the preliminary work I make a final hand composition of my preferred layout, This layout aids in cutting down your workload on the computer when the time comes. The key here is the tighter the hand comp the easier the computer comp.

COMPUTER PROGRESSIONS
All preliminary work is finished and computer work begins.
Here the goal is to scrutinize your work and find any errors that are hurting your layout. Printing out your progressions helps you digest your design in a more tactile way. The key here is to be your own worst critic to put your best design forward.
